The Kenai is the most unique freshwater King Salmon fishery in Alaska. One of the only places on earth where an angler has a chance to catch the next world record.
The current record stands at 97 pounds 4 ounces taken by Les Anderson in 1985. Also, eight out of the ten largest King Salmon landed with a rod and reel were taken from the Kenai River. With an average size fish of 35-40 pounds and fish every year caught in the 60-80 pound range it is undeniable that the Kenai is a trophy salmon river.
These beasts enter the freshwater covered in sea lice and are known for their unstoppable runs and ability to leave even the most seasoned anglers in awe of their power…. They demand respect!!!
We fish from a spacious 20 foot, custom power boat, designed to comfortably accommodate 4 guests plus your guide. It is the perfect mix of speed and comfort that will take you to all the hot spots.

The Kasilof River, located 12 miles southwest of Soldotona, is a drift boat only fishery. It drains Tustumena Lake and flows a short 17 miles to meet Cook Inlet. The Kasilof King Salmon run heats up in the beginning of June and goes strong until July 31.
Bait is allowed starting on May 16th which greatly increases an angler’s chances at a fresh catch. The average size fish during the first run in June is around 20 pounds. The first run can be a very exciting time as anglers not only have the chance at multiple kings but other species as well including: steelhead, Sockeye, and Dolly Varden. The month of July marks the start of the second run of King salmon which are much larger! You are sure to see fish averaging in the 30 to 40 pound range until the season closure on July 31st. Multiple hook-ups are frequent and kids especially enjoy it because most days see enough action to keep them thoroughly focused on catching fish!!!
